Tania Saleh, singer, songwriter and visual artist is one of the most important figures on the alternative music scene in Lebanon. She calls her style "Indie Arabic" and her songs are poetic and socially critical at the same time. Tania Saleh from Beirut has sung as a child and played in rock bands as a teenager, but before she became a singer / songwriter she studied fine arts. After working as a cartoonist and advertising designer for years, she switched to music in 2002 and has since written about life as a woman in the Arab world from a female perspective.
